Heroin with a street value of Rs 8.3 million has been found in the house of Abdul Aziz Beeharry at Dagotiere on Monday 4th of July. Members of the Anti Drug & Smuggling Unit (ADSU) are now trying to get more details about the supplier of the drug.
The 26 year old man is considered to be just a pawn in this matter. The police will now investigate the matter in depth so as to know how the drug was brought on our territory. Abdul Aziz Beeharry and his 36 year old accomplice, Ajaysingh Lokee will be interrogated soon.
On Monday evening, a team from the Metropolitan Division landed at Abdul Aziz Beeharry’s place with a search warrant. A plastic container containing 500 grams of heroin was found. Two other bags containing 40.5 grams and 13.5 grams of the same drug were also found inside the house.
The suspects spent the night in custody. On Tuesday 5th of July, they were brought before the court of Moka. An interim charge of drug trafficking has been brought against them. They will remain in police custody until their next court appearance, schedules for the 12th of July.
