Lallchand Boodhoo, a fruit seller, has been sentenced to 8 years in prison. The man, who is in his forties, has been accused of sexually abusing two girls aged 3 and 8 respectively.
The Intermediate Court decided that the latter will spend 5 years in jail for abducting the two children and another 3 years for sexually abusing them.
On 21st March 2013, an officer of the Special Mobile Force had alerted the police. He had seen the motorcyclist kidnapping the two girls before bringing them to a deserted field. The officer followed Lallchand Boodhoo who then managed to escape.
The culprit has admitted that he had lied to the children that he had a parcel for their father. He had asked them to follow him in a sugarcane field. His violent act was interrupted when he saw a man approaching.
He was then arrested by the police on the sugarcane field on the same day where he had left his motorcycle licence by mistake.
In 2007, Lallchand Boodhoo was sentenced to 8 years in prison for raping a woman in her 60’s.
