Poudre d’Or was the scene of a drama on Monday, June 6. A policeman, aged 22, was on a motorcycle on the road when he crashed into a bus. The accident occurred around 2:30 PM. Unfortunately, the young man died instantly.
At this stage of the investigation, the exact circumstances of the accident remain unknown.
On Sunday, our roads made two other victims who succumbed to their injuries. Manuel Robert Henry, 68, passed away at the hospital of Jeetoo in Port Louis. The sexagenarian, who resided in Eau Coulee was crossing the road when he was hit by a van. The accident occurred on Friday, May 6, shortly after 11:35 PM. The vehicle was driven by a resident of 55 years old from Tamarin.
Another victim of the road: Billy Rebuke, 44 who died on Sunday at the hospital of Jeetoo. Father of two daughters of 7 and 13, Billy was hit by a motorcycle at Residence Vallijee. The autopsy attributed his death to a skull fracture and internal bleeding.
