The accident occurred in Coromandel around 9 am on Tuesday, May 17. A bus of company Rose Hill Transport (RHT) ended its race against a tree.
The cause of the accident is still unknown but according to the police, there was no brake failure after testing the brakes of the bus. The impact made a dozen of minor injuries and the injured persons were transported to the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo hospital, where they received care.
The bus, which was on the way to Rose Hill from Port Louis, suffered damages, as you can see in the pictures above.
The accident occurred near Beryl Rose. The bus, according to a passenger, neared the NTC bus before finishing up against a tree lying in the roadside.
“C’était la panique. Monn trouv kouma bis la pe al tap avek sa pied-la. Heureusement que ce n’est pas plus grave,” said one passenger.
The inspector Murdee, in a statement to TELEPLUS, revealed that there was no problem with the bus brakes.
